Pete Keenan is a Managing Director & Head of Finance at 645 Ventures, where he operates at the intersection of finance, data, and investing. He leads the firm’s portfolio management and strategic finance functions, overseeing fund performance, portfolio company financial health, and capital markets work including M&A and IPO readiness. He also leads the firm’s finance organization, overseeing fund finance and firm-wide financial strategy.
Pete collaborates closely with 645’s Investment & Research team on fintech investing and plays a key role in evaluating and supporting the firm’s growth-stage investments.
He also advises founders on financial planning, KPI design, capital strategy, and operational decision-making. Pete partners with leadership teams to translate data into insight, refine financial narratives, and prepare companies for growth, follow-on financings, and exit opportunities. Prior to 645, Pete spent four years at Volition Capital, a Boston-based growth equity firm, and began his career at KPMG LLP in the Alternative Investments audit practice. Pete graduated from Fairfield University with both a BS and MS in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Originally from New England, he now lives in Lakewood Ranch, Florida with his wife, Christine, and their sons, Xavier and Brooks. In his free time, he enjoys supporting the Patriots and Bruins, spending time outdoors, and traveling.
